Channels as the basis for modern product presentation

Whether in refrigerated shelves or dry goods, channels are a central element of modern shelf organization. They combine order with efficiency and create the basis for flexible, sustainable product concepts.

If you want to permanently improve your product presentation, there is no getting around professional channel solutions — because they turn a shelf into a functioning sales and presentation area that can then exploit its full potential.

What is a channel in the presentation of goods?

A channel is a guide system on the shelf that keeps products on a fixed track and automatically pushes them to the front of the shelf using a pushfeed. The pushfeed is powered by an integrated spring, which is available in different strengths. As a result, the goods in the channel always remain neatly aligned, clearly visible and easy to remove — regardless of how many items are left.

Channels are mainly used for beverages, packaged foods, drugstore items and convenience products, but can be used for many product groups. The aim is always the same: to create structure, simplify processes and keep the presentation stable in the long term — an aspiration that forms the basis of every product development at POS TUNING.

The channels from POS TUNING, also known as “Track”, are characterized by their special design: Not only are they extremely resilient, but in everyday use on the shop floor, they are also easy to operate. Installation on the shelf is completed in just a few simple steps and U‑Channels also offer maximum flexibility when changing planograms. They can be individually adapted to any product widths or shelf depth, thus enabling a wide range of product presentation options.

The integrated POS‑T pushfeeds ensure that your products are always ready to hand and perfectly visible at the front. Filling and removing is child’s play — without the packaging slipping.
Flexible presentation of products possible: standing, lying or combined — always matching the sales environment!
Easy to install: Optionally pre-installed “shelf-ready”.

Why are channels so important in retail?

Everyday retail life is characterized by time pressure, staff shortages and constantly changing product ranges. Traditional shelving surfaces quickly reach their limits here: products tip over, slide backwards or have to be regularly pulled forward manually.

Channels solve precisely these problems: they keep the goods permanently in position, ensure a tidy and uniform appearance and significantly reduce the manual effort required for shelf maintenance

In short: channels bring order to the shelves — and peace and quiet to everyday working life.
POS TUNING consistently pursues the goal of developing solutions that not only work in the planogram, but above all in daily use on the shop floor.

What makes channels so special?

The biggest advantage of channels is that they are automatic. Thanks to the integrated pushfeed, each product remains continuously at the front without employees having to intervene. At the same time, channels create clear structures that provide orientation for both customers and staff.

Other special features include high flexibility in terms of product sizes and packaging shapes, clean separation of individual items and varieties, optimum use of space thanks to narrow, precise guidance and a professional appearance throughout the entire sales day.

A channel is therefore much more than just an organizing element — it is an active tool for efficient product presentation, as POS TUNING has been establishing in retail for decades.

Why is it worth investing in ducts?

At first glance, channels are an investment in the shelf. In practice, however, they are primarily an investment in time, efficiency and process reliability.

Typical effects are less time spent on replenishing goods, faster and simpler replenishment, fewer errors in placement and constant availability of goods at the shelf front.

In the long term, channels pay off through reduced working times, more stable processes and a consistently high-quality presentation — regardless of the time of day or customer frequency. POS TUNING develops its channel solutions with precisely this long-term benefit in mind.

What impact do channels have on everyday life for retailers?

A structured shelf looks tidy, professional and trustworthy. Customers find products more quickly, access them more intuitively and experience the shopping experience as pleasant and clear — a key success factor for modern stores.

What impact do channels have on employees’ everyday lives?

The use of channels noticeably reduces the workload on staff. Instead of constantly reorganizing goods, employees can concentrate on more important tasks — such as advising customers, ensuring the availability of goods or carrying out quality checks. Handling becomes simpler, faster and easier to plan.
